Description

This is a Fantastic Old piece and it is in really nice condition. I have an affection for small furniture, either miniatures or child’s play pretend furniture. This piece is a perfect display piece. Do you collect children’s tea sets? What a perfect way to display it. It is in very nice condition. It has a single door, but there isn’t and wasn’t a handle on it. There isn’t a hole drilled for a handle. It is a dark wood, probably walnut. It has the original sticker in the back of the unit. It was made by Cass Toys, which produced just a few of these pieces of toy furniture. This is a RARE find. I did a pretty extensive search on the internet and regarding Cass toys and I cannot find anything even remotely like this sideboard or cabinet. It is 15" tall, 13 1/2" across and 9" front to back on the bottom, 4" front to back at the top. Dark wood, probably oak, based on the grain pattern. A really neat display piece.

N. D. Cass Company
Athol, Massachusetts
1898 – 2003

In their many years of business, they manufactured a wide range of products from large pianos and drums to a popular wooden toy line called “The Funny Face Family” of toys. In 1950, N.D. Cass Co purchased the Fred Langfelder Corporation of New Jersey taking N. D. Cass into manufacturing children’s pianos. In their later years, they specialized in chalk boards and children’s furniture. On May 16th, 1996, their warehouse burned to the ground. The blaze was so large that people had to be evacuated from their homes. Most of Cass’ toys are trucks and automobiles, but they did produce a few pull toys.
