Description
A Beautiful Early Pattern Glass, Partially nude Woman, Art Nouveau, Pitcher. The piece is in EXCELLENT condition, with no chips, cracks or repair. It stands 7 1/2 inches tall. It is a stunning piece with great detail throughout. It has a ribbed base, a patterned handle and spout. There is a rim around the center with some great detail and the woman is walking with a cherub and inside a round raised dotted oval. It is a perfect piece for anyone that likes Art Nouveau. Great for entertaining.
The pattern Psyche & Cupid, borrowed from Greek Mythology, is delicately portrayed in the pattern motif for which it is named. The name of the manufacturer is unknown, but it is believed to have been made by an American glass company in non-flint, circa 1870’s.
The clear glass water pitcher measures 7 1/2" in height, 8 1/2" from spout-to-handle and 3 7/8" across the base. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
From the estate of an antique dealer that only bought the RARE and the Best of Early glass and RS Prussia. I try to describe items as accurately as possible.
