Description

This is a very unique and unusual find. It is Japanese and from the WWI era. It has Kanji on the back, which of course, I cannot read. It is a print block type item, but I believe it is a mold of some sort. It has a very detailed carved bird and the lid is held on by just 2 pegs. This is an early piece and something I am not familiar with. It is 8" long, 4 1/2" wide and 2" thick. The carving is so detailed, it is just absolutely fantastic. I believe the bird is an Eagle.
