Description
This is an Original Leather Calvary Saddle. A black leather saddle with brass trim. It seems to be all intact, although I am not an expert in this area. McClellen was the maker of many of these saddles during the war. I purchased 3 at the sale and found the mark on two of the saddles. I do not see a stamp on this saddle, for McClellen or any other maker. This saddle is in very good condition, without any serious deterioration to the leather. It has straps and buckles that go under the horse. A saddle that seems to be quite complete. This piece was purchased from and estate sale and not part of a personal collection. This piece is mid 1800’s and would be great for anyone that does reenactments.
